Organization offers new safety credentialing opportunities (3/11)
The International Board for Certification of Safety Managers (also known as the Board of Certified Hazard Control Management) is a not-for-profit professional credentialing organization that issues five safety and hazard control-related credentials.

National trends show improvements in the nation’s air quality (3/11)
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is making the most recent data available on the state of the nation’s air quality, according to an agency press release. Air pollution impacts public health, the environment, and the Earth’s climate, and understanding these impacts are important priorities for the agency. EPA regulatory actions and voluntary efforts have led to cleaner cars, industries and consumer products, which in turn have contributed to improvements in the nation's air.

Study: “Glass cockpits” in airplanes have not led to expected safety improvements (3/11)
The National Transportation Safety Board adopted a study concluding that single engine airplanes equipped with glass cockpits had no better overall safety record than airplanes with conventional instrumentation, reports an NTSB press release.

Delaware poultry processing plant cited for workplace safety hazards (3/11)
OSHA has cited the Allen Family Foods Inc. poultry processing facility in Harbeson for exposing workers to a variety of workplace safety hazards, according to an agency press release. Proposed penalties total $182,200.
