The keynote speaker at Monday's opening general session at 7:30 a.m. is Frans Johansson, author of “The Medici Effect,” whose presentation is called “The Click Moment: Seizing Opportunity in an Unpredictable World.” He will focus on the ideas and moments that successful leaders must leverage to unleash innovation and growth.

Johansson says, in today’s fast-changing and unpredictable world, the rules are changing so fast that the tried-and-true formulas for success are disintegrating. Based on the ideas from his second book, “The Click Moment”, Johansson obliterates some of the most recognized successes as post-constructions that ignore the unexpected forces—click moments—that changed the game. Johansson makes a case for why embracing unpredictability is the key to standing apart, and outlines steps that every organization, team and individual can use to find, create and leverage those click moments into a winning strategy.

An author, entrepreneur and consultant, Johansson has spoken to audiences worldwide, from the boardrooms of large corporations to villages in developing countries. His first book, “The Medici Effect,” shattered assumptions about how great ideas happen. His latest book, “The Click Moment,” challenges the idea that in business you can strategize, plan and analyze your way to success. Born and raised in Sweden, he has founded a software startup, a healthcare firm and a hedge fund. He is the founder and CEO of The Medici Group. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School.
