The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) seeks nominations for four Board of Directors positions that will be vacated in June 2017. The open positions will include Vice President, Treasurer-elect, and two Director positions. This year for the first time, all Board nominations must be submitted electronically via the nominations portal on the AIHA website.

What's involved

AIHA's Board of Directors plays a critical role in the association. The Board is the "face" of AIHA, establishes the organization's strategic direction and goals, and monitors progress toward reaching those goals on behalf of the membership. Desired attributes include a demonstrated record of distinguished service and the potential for further contributions; demonstrated performance at the highest level in scientific, industrial, public sector, and/or educational communities; a commitment to devote the time necessary to effectively perform Board duties; and demonstrated expertise in industrial, environmental or occupational hygiene.

For Board policies as well as detailed descriptions of roles and responsibilities of Members of the AIHA Board of Directors, see AIHA Governance.

Questions should be emailed to infonet@aiha.org. The deadline for nominations for these elected AIHA leadership positions is November 4, 2016. The annual online election will be held in March 2017.

And...

AIHA also seeks nominations for the position of Representative to the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA). This volunteer position serves a three-year term. The Representative to IOHA will be an integral part of the planning of IOHA 2018, the 11th IOHA International Scientific Conference, which will be held in Washington, DC.

Nominees for this position should be dedicated to IOHA's strategic goals, which include: promoting occupational hygiene, improving occupational hygiene capabilities and practice, effective networking and knowledge management, and robust governance. For questions regarding the call for nominations for the Representative to IOHA, please contact Bethany Chirico, AIHA Director, Global Meetings, via email. Nominations will be accepted until Tuesday, November 1, 2016 and the selected nominee will be announced in early 2017.
