Forty sales and marketing professionals from safety distributor Airgas, Inc. have earned the Qualified Safety Sales Professional (QSSP) designation from the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA).

They completed an intensive five-day course in the technical and regulatory fundamentals of workplace safety and health, February 29 – March 4 in Los Angeles, CA. QSSP is designed to provide an understanding of the challenges to employers and workers who face hazardous conditions on the job, and help provide solutions.

This was the second Airgas class in 2016, in which a total of 80 QSSPs were trained.  ISEA President Dan Shipp said, “We’re pleased to be able to partner with Airgas, and help their sales professionals broaden their expertise in health and safety.  QSSP is an important benefit to ISEA member companies, and to their customers and the workers who face hazards on the job.”

A significant milestone was reached during the Los Angeles class, when Sissy Perry, an Airgas safety specialist in Corsicana, Texas, became the 1500th person to earn the QSSP designation.

The course, sponsored by ISEA, is taught by a faculty of safety experts, led by course director Richard G. Raymer, CSP, president of Safety Solutions Partners.
