OSHA is seeking nominations for persons to serve on the Maritime Advisory Committee for Occupational Safety and Health (MACOSH).

MACOSH members advise the assistant secretary of labor for occupational safety and health on issues and concerns for workers involved in shipbuilding, shipbreaking, ship repair and longshoring in the maritime industries.

The committee will consist of 15 members. Committee members will be chosen from among a cross-section of individuals who represent employers, employees, federal and state safety and health organizations, professional organizations specializing in occupational safety and health, and national standards-setting groups.

Interested persons may nominate themselves or others for membership on the committee. Details for the nomination procedure appear in the June 23 Federal Register. Nominations must be postmarked by Aug. 8.

The previous charter for MACOSH expired in May.
