The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) wants Washington to get to work on a new ergonomics standard.

“It’s time to put politics aside and move forward as quickly and as thoroughly as possible to craft a fair and workable new standard,” the group said in a letter to Sen. John Breaux (D-La.) and Rep. Chris John (D-La.), sponsors of bills calling for OSHA to finalize a new ergo standard in two years.

AIHA wants to be in the loop, telling the Louisiana lawmakers that “professional associations with long-standing experience and expertise in ergonomics, such as AIHA, must also be involved in the development of any new ergonomics standard.”
