The American Society of Safety Engineers will offer an interactive live webinar titled, “Understanding a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program and Personnel Key to Its Development and Implementation,” on August 18 at 11:00 a.m. CDT, according to an ASSE press release. The webinar will feature speakers Randall Wingfield, chairman of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z359 Accredited Standards Committee and chairman of the International Society for Fall Protection, as well as Thomas Kramer, chairman of the ANSI Z359.6 subcommittee on the design of active fall protection systems and the ANSI Z359.17 subcommittee on horizontal lifelines.

Key issues addressed during this webinar will be developing and implementing a comprehensive managed fall protection program as the most effective method to identify, evaluate and eliminate fall hazards. The ANSI/ASSE Z359.2-2007, titled “Minimum Requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program,” will be a key component of the presentation and will aim to help attendees better understand key terms related to the success of a fall protection program, specifically terms such as authorized person, competent person, qualified person and program administrator. Understanding the responsibilities of each aforementioned team members, limitations and training required is necessary for better formulating successful fall protection programs as addressed in this webinar.

Webinar attendees will receive a free electronic copy of the ANSI/ASSE Z359.2-2007 standard, access to the live webcast and 30 days of access to the archived recording, slides from the session and 0.2 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The price to attend for ASSE members is $115, for AIHA/ACHMM is $125 and for non-members is $135.
