Pelican™ appoints Jamie Mearns as vice president of finance



Pelican Products, the global leader in the design and manufacture of advanced lighting systems and virtually indestructible cases, has appointed Jamie Mearns as Vice President of Finance.

“Jamie is making considerable contributions to Pelican’s success,” said Don Jordan, CFO of Pelican Products. “The impact of his efforts in department budgeting, acquisition due diligence and general financial controls and reporting, has been instrumental in Pelican achieving its growth expectations for the Company."

Mearns joined Pelican in mid-2006 as Director of Financial Planning and was instrumental in the implementation and ongoing evolution of the company’s current annual budget and financial forecasting process. He was also a key contributor in the acquisitions of Pelican Australia, Advanced Area Lighting Group and Hardigg Industries. Over the course of his tenure, his role expanded to include international tax planning and risk management.

Prior to Pelican, Mearns served in senior management roles for privately held firms as well as management roles for Fortune 500 companies that include SunAmerica, Inc., The Walt Disney Company and The Weyerhaeuser Company. He also worked in the audit practice of PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Mearns holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA and Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
