It seems that no matter what we read or hear these days, the word “culture” is present. This word is used in so many contexts, that it does not appear to have an agreed-upon definition. Buzzwords occur when terms, generally originating in a scientific or technical context, are picked up by the general society. When this occurs, these words are often used by those with little or no understanding of the actual meaning while at the same time creating an illusion of understanding.
Karl Geiger, the originator of Buzzword Bingo, said, "It's dangerous when they're used as a substitute for thought. People sometimes come up with terms to sound like they're in the know -- when in fact they're just parroting a shorthand version of a complex set of ideas." 1
