Vendor NewsHoneywell (NYSE: HON) announced that it has appointed Jack Boss as president for Honeywell Safety Products, a part of the Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions’ Life Safety business.

Honeywell Safety Products (HSP) is the leading global manufacturer of personal protective equipment (PPE), providing an unmatched portfolio of head-to toe protection offerings including head, hearing, eye/face, respiratory, hand, footwear, clothing and fall protection. HSP covers all the PPE needs of men and women working in high-risk situations in vertical markets such as heavy industries, automotive, construction, manufacturing industries, transportation, utilities, fire safety, oil & gas, wind energy, army and nuclear.

Boss joined Honeywell in 2004 and was most recently vice president and general manager of Honeywell Specialty Products. He worked for AlliedSignal, a predecessor of Honeywell, from 1988 to 1996, where he held sales and marketing management positions of increasing responsibility. In 2008, Honeywell recognized Boss with the Honeywell Premier Achievement Award for his work to grow the Specialty Chemicals business.
Prior to re-joining Honeywell in 2004, Boss worked at Great Lakes Chemical, serving first as vice president and general manager of Fine Chemicals and then as vice president and general manager of Fluorines.

Boss earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of West Virginia and an MBA in marketing and finance from Rutgers.
