Students and professionals will gather in San Antonio, Texas in October for AIHA Fall Conference 2012 – an event formerly known as PCIH. This year’s conference will feature workshops; interactive breakfast and lunch discussions; lectures; sessions with in-depth presentations and analysis and expanded technical tours. Attendees will be able to network with colleagues in a collaborative, intimate and engaging environment.

Educational Opportunities

Sessions will cover an array of topics and include speakers who are prominent in their fields. Last year’s sessions featured Dr. John Howard, Director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and U.S. Chemical Safety Board Chair Rafael Moure-Eraso, PhD, CIH. Speakers from NASA, the Army Institute of Public Health and the University of Minnesota School of Public Health also participated.

Meet Your Sponsor

Founded in 1939, the nonprofit American Industrial Hygiene Association® (AIHA) is one of the largest international associations serving the needs of occupational and environmental health and safety professionals practicing industrial hygiene in industry, government, labor, academic institutions, and independent organizations.

Outside the Conference

The 300-year-old Alamo isn’t the only historical attraction found in San Antonio. The oldest historic district in Texas — the King William Historic District — was built by German merchants in the late 1800s and is made up of elegant mansions, quirky bed and breakfasts, art galleries and restaurants. The popular River Walk in the city center offers a three-mile-long cobbled walkway along the river’s edge past cafés, shops, restaurants and bars. Its three miles of pathways are a full level below city streets, creating the ambiance of a secluded oasis.

The San Antonio Museum of Art and the Southwest School of Art are also popular with visitors, as is the 120-year-old Buckhorn Saloon & Museum, which offers up both beverages and Old West history.
