Pelican appoints Joe Eckerle as Vice President and General Manager of their South Deerfield facility

Joe EckerlePelican Products, the global leader in the design and manufacture of both high-performance protective case solutions and advanced portable lighting systems, has appointed Joe Eckerle as Vice President and General Manager of their South Deerfield facility.

“Pelican is focused on operational excellence and continual improvement. Joe’s expertise with managing diverse groups in fast-paced environments will strengthen an already effective organization in South Deerfield,” said John Padian, COO of Pelican Products. “South Deerfield is an integral part of the company’s strategic growth plans and we’re confident that Joe’s leadership will enhance Pelican’s ability to service our customers.”

As Vice President and General Manager, Eckerle will be responsible for the day to day management of all aspects of the South Deerfield facility including Operations, Human Resources, Finance, Engineering, Customer Service, Quality and IT.  Either directly, or in coordination with the heads of each of these organizations, he will develop and execute strategies that serve to further their capabilities and performance, providing customers with the very best product the company can design and build, on time and at competitive prices.

Prior to joining Pelican, he served in several key executive positions with companies including TriMedx Healthcare Equipment Services, Optical Experts Manufacturing, Technicolor Home Entertainment Services, Mitsui Advanced Media and Sony Music Entertainment.  Erckerle has extensive experience with respect to six sigma, lean manufacturing, plastic injection molding, glass mastering, offset printing, and high speed packaging and distribution.

He holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Industrial Engineering and Technology from Central Michigan University and completed his MBA Degree at Regis University.
