AIHAAs National Volunteer Week wraps up, the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) is inviting industrial hygienists and other occupational health, safety and environmental professionals to volunteer their time, energy, and expertise to advance the science and practice of industrial hygiene.

"AIHA volunteers help to ensure that worker health and safety is not simply an agenda item, but a business practice," according to the organization.

AIHA volunteers are involved in a number of activities: supporting the board in the management of the association; facilitation of networking and information exchange among members; development of products, services, and activities for educational purposes; development of guidelines and standards for good practice; development of statements to contribute to public policy debates; collaboration with other institutions; or other activities deemed appropriate by the board.

National Volunteer Week was established in 1974 by the Points of Light Institute.
