AIHce 2012 closes with new AIHA leader

AIHAThe American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) wrapped up AIHce 2012 in Indianapolis, IN by conferring Allan Fleeger, CIH, CSP as the organization’s new president.

Fleeger, industrial hygiene manager for the Americas Division of ExxonMobil Corporation in Houston, TX, served as AIHA's vice president before becoming President-elect. Additionally, he served as a member of the AIHA Board of Directors from 2004 to 2007 and recently served as treasurer. He has been a member of AIHA since 1991.

Fleeger says he intends to expand AIHA's global outreach and involvement, focusing on the development of student and young professionals. His presidential term runs through AIHce 2013, which will take place in Montreal.

Planning for AIHce 2013 is already underway. Industrial hygiene professionals are being invited to submit a presentation in their area of expertise. AIHA notes that presenting earns points toward certifications and helps educate safety professionals about emerging research and new concepts.
