The president of ProAct Safety will challenge existing safety excellence approaches and teach workshop and conference attendees how to sustain safe behaviors and safety culture excellence

Summit Training Source offers new GHS training videoProAct Safety, provider of safety excellence strategies for organizations across the globe, will send its president and chief operating officer, Shawn M. Galloway, to SafetyFestMT, an educational outreach of WorkSafeMT, and the NOSHA Safety Conference in North Dakota. At both events, he will address attendees as an advocate of the most advanced approaches to safety excellence in performance and culture.

SafetyFestMT is a free statewide safety and occupational health training event hosted by the Montana Department of Labor and Industry, an organization dedicated to improving the safety culture of organizations of all sizes and in all industries in the state of Montana. The full‐day workshop is scheduled for early December 2012 in Billings. Kara Graetz of the Montana Department of Labor and Industry said the department decided to invite Galloway to the event because of his demonstrated ability to probe deeply into the “Why?” of on‐the‐job accidents.

“Montana has the unfortunate distinction of being a state with one of the highest workplace accident, injury and fatality rates in the country. Our mission is to change the safety culture among our population of one million, and bring it in line with Montana’s Safety Culture Act. SafetyFestMT is one of our most notable efforts in this push. When we asked Shawn if he was up to a challenge of this magnitude, he said his goal was even bigger—he’s trying to change the global safety culture. His vision perfectly aligns with our mission. With Shawn’s behavior‐based safety training, for the first time we’ll bring a full safety culture creation course to Montana’s businesses. Hopefully, this brings us both one step closer to making Montana, and the world, safer places to work.”

The Northern Occupational Safety and Health Organization chose Shawn Galloway as its sole presenter for their 2012 NOSHA Safety Conference in Grand Forks, North Dakota, which will be held on October 2, 2012. Galloway will deliver a keynote address for this event as well as a two‐hour breakout session.

Rick Elise, WSI Safety Consultant for the organization, said Galloway was chosen in part because of his clear, easy‐listening communication style. “I recommended Shawn to speak at our annual safety association safety seminar, because I wanted our area safety professionals to have the opportunity to listen and learn from a global safety excellence expert and top‐rated speaker.”

Galloway’s regularly speaks on safety excellence topics during international workshops, both publicly and privately, challenging current thinking and offering practical, implementable strategies to obtain sustainable results in performance and culture.
