To support Occupational Safety and Health degree programs at Universities’ in Summit’s home state, Michigan, Summit Training Source has donated a full library of Summit DVDs and access to Summit Streaming Video’s full library to Oakland University; a combined collection of over 200 training courses. Training programs include access to support materials such as handbooks, guides and Power Point™ presentations. Summit’s training materials can be used by professors in the classroom to enhance training curriculum on important compliance requirements and best safety practices to help the students of the Occupational Safety and Health program prepare for a career in safety, while at the same time, setting the stage for professional certification. Students are also able to access the materials to enhance projects or presentations. Summit looks forward to working with the Oakland University OSH program in the future to help their students become safety professionals who are ready for the job.

The Occupational Safety and Health program at Oakland University meets the recommendation for educational outcomes established by the American Society of Safety Engineers for ABET accreditation and requires specialized applied science and technical skills coupled with communications and general education skills that only a properly formulated curriculum can provide. The Oakland B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health is one of only 14 ABET accredited safety-related degree programs in America.
