tire inspectionDuPont Sustainable Solutions announces the release of Forklifts: Inspect, Recharge, Refuel, a new safety training program that goes beyond operational forklift safety training and reviews the steps for forklift inspection, engine refueling, and battery charging.

Forklifts: Inspect, Recharge, Refuel, available now on DVD and coming soon as an interactive online course, stresses that operating a forklift is only one side of forklift safety and that inspections and maintenance are equally important to avoid potential hazards.

The program identifies general guidelines for pre-operational inspections, as well as inspections performed while the engine is running. It also cites specific dos and don'ts for examining electric, internal combustion, and liquid propane (LPG) forklifts.

Forklifts: Inspect, Recharge, Refuel offers practical safety advice on refueling gasoline- and LPG-powered forklifts. The program discusses specific hazards for each and prevention measures that should be taken.

Finally, the program examines the risks of recharging a forklift battery and provides tips on clamps, battery acid, vent caps, voltage levels, charging rates, and the importance of eye-washing stations and proper ventilation.

Forklifts: Inspect, Recharge, Refuel is available now in English and will be available in Spanish and Portuguese. Additional information is available by calling 800-861-2221 or emailing sales@training.dupont.com. A free online preview is accessible at www.training.dupont.com.
