Metro’s new state-of-the-art facility designed to meet increased demand for quality American-made products

Metro's new 60,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Oakland, NJ will provide double the administrative, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution capability. The Metropolitan Vacuum Cleaner Company, maker of Air Force® Blaster® brand personnel blow-off systems, has announced the opening of a new 60,000 sq. ft. facility strategically located at 5 Raritan Rd., Oakland, NJ 07436-2709. The building will become Metro’s new corporate headquarters and provide double the administrative, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution capability.

Despite dismal market conditions over the last several years, sales of many of Metro’s high-quality American-made products, including their Air Force® Blaster® line of personnel blow-off/drying systems, have been able to maintain a healthy growth curve. This growth in sales, combined with an ever increasing line of market-responsive new products, has outstripped the capacity of the company’s venerable Suffern, New York plant.

“This new facility will not only give us additional physical space” says Metro President, Jules Stern…“it will also provide us with greatly improved efficiencies in raw material purchasing, handling and fabrication; pre-assembly and component storage; final assembly; packaging; warehousing and distribution. These improved efficiencies will allow us to increase production and, at the same time, keep our pricing competitive without compromising any of the product quality or service our dealers and consumers have come to expect.”

Metro is an American, family owned and operated business established in 1939 in a small Bronx, NY storefront. From those humble beginnings the company has evolved and grown into a multidivisional American manufacturing icon. Over the last 74 years, they have pioneered many industry firsts and today; in addition to Air Force® pet, motorcycle, car and

industrial forced-air dryer/blow-off systems; manufacture and market such well known brands as the Metropolitan Professionals® automotive and floorcare vacuum cleaning systems; DataVac® computer maintenance systems; Vac’N’Blo® automotive detailing systems; Magic Air® inflation systems; Hit Zone™ air-suspension batting tees; and many others.
