NEW! The Leading Edge Blocfor® AES self-retracting lifeline is especially made to use in applications where falls may occur over an edge such as roofing, leading edge construction, etc. This Blocfor® is suited for use with fall arrest systems using Tractel roof anchors.

In the event of a fall over an edge, the Leading Edge Blocfor® AES self-retracting lifeline will lock the drum by a pawl which engage in a ratchet wheel under the effect of the centrifugal force caused by the acceleration of the falling mass attached to the wire rope. The fall is stopped gradually by the slide blocking of a disk braking system and with the integral energy absorbing component giving additional protection as it deploys with the force over the edge point

What’s new?

TRACTEL® provides material handling and lifting, load measurement, suspended working platforms and fall arrest safety equipment in over 120 countries through a network of over 8,000 industrial distributors.

TRACTEL® has become an industry standard for quality, reliability and safety with the introduction of products like our Griphoist®, TIRAK™, MINIFOR™ hoists, our electronic load indicator DYNAFOR™ and a complete range of fall safety equipment.

The Blocfor® AES self-retracting lifeline automatically stops a person’s fall. The Blocfor® is primarily intended to connect to a structure while the user is moving vertically directly under the Blocfor®. The user is attached by a wire rope or synthetic rope whose length is automatically adjusted by a retracting spring that activates a drum on which the wire rope or synthetic rope is coiled onto. In the event of a fall, the drum is locked by a pawl system which engages in a ratchet wheel under the effect of the centrifugal force caused by the acceleration of the falling mass attached to the wire rope. The fall is stopped gradually by the slide blocking of a disk braking system. Because the wire rope or synthetic rope is constantly tensioned between the user and the Blocfor®, the user’s free fall distance is held to a minimum by the disk braking system.

  • New patented system with integrated energy absorber;
  • Leading edge capability;
  • Fiberglass filled casing for added durability;
  • Fewer internal components for added durability.

The Blocfor® AES and Leading-Edge model meet CSA Z259.2.2-98, ANSI Z359.1 and OSHA.
