Radians opens Made in USA foam earplug manufacturing facility at Memphis headquarters

Radians' Made in USA foam earplugsRadians is now manufacturing their Made in the USA foam earplug series at their corporate headquarters in Memphis, TN.

The new 5200 square foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is under the leadership of Dennis Pellerin, an industry expert in foam plug hearing protection for over 24 years. Pellerin, who is Radians’ VP of Manufacturing for the foam plug division, is enthusiastic about the opportunities that exist for Radians as they grow their new foam earplug business.

 “One of the exciting facets to manufacturing your own foam plugs is the control you have over your product,” says Pellerin. “We use a new foam earplug formula that is one of the most stable formulas I have witnessed in my career. This unique formula allows us to use custom additives that enable us to manipulate and control the softness, the density, and the NRR of the product.”

Another attribute of this new formula is its ability to create a variety of colors,” said Pellerin.  “The new formula is not only conducive to producing a large color palette, but Radians uses a specialized drying process that does not compromise color, which is often the case in substandard drying processes.”

Radians new manufacturing facility in Memphis has the capacity to produce 453,000 pairs of foam ear plugs a day or about 100,000,000 pairs in a year.  The new facility also has the technology and the science that allows for 30 minute color and mold changes, which means there is not a lot of “down time” where production is concerned.

According to Bill England, President of Radians, “our capital investment in our new manufacturing facility and the technology, machinery, and the qualified people that make it run, is a testament to Radians commitment to provide comfortable and safe foam earplugs on a massive scale.”
