Labor and Industries investigators hadn't determined whether workplace-safety violations contributed to the accident, said Kim Contris, an L&I spokeswoman.
Kim Miles, a 40-year-old Sumner, Wash., woman, was killed Saturday at about 2:30 p.m. when a crane knocked the empty container from a ship it was unloading, according to Tacoma police. The crane reportedly had picked up more containers than is usual, causing the empty one to fall.
