“Corporate challenges for meeting environmental sustainability can be met, even when a company processes, handles or manages hazardous chemicals,” notes Dean Alcott, Safety Storage’s national sales manager, in a recent press release.

A thorough understanding of the Federal, State and Local code requirements, chemicals in use, and job functions that require access to the building forms the cornerstone of a highly functional building, says Safety Storage.

Safety Storage building designers, engineers and local, on-site project supervisors meet with the operations manager, plant safety engineer, and others to develop a building solution that supports corporate goals for managing compliance, sustainability and processing operational efficiencies.

The Safety Storage commitment for enhancing operational efficiencies in the management of hazardous materials can extend beyond simple material containment storage, handling and dispensing operations. Innovative building solutions are often designed to support lean and efficient chemical management processes by co-locating related operations and chemicals within a single structure, where possible. Applications for Safety Storage building solutions have included all-in-one material storage and test laboratories, point-of-use material storage and manufacturing. In some instances, structures may be placed directly into the processing or manufacturing area within an existing building; or may be located outside, within a convenient centralized access area.

Safety Storage is a GSA and DLA contract vendor to Government agencies. Products are certified by UL, FM and third-party agencies. Safety Storage also works closely with local authorities who have jurisdiction over code requirements that ultimately dictate construction specifications.
