MoreOSHA is set for a mini budget bump in the Bush administration's 2005 fiscal plan. Spending would increase from $457.5 million to $461.6 — less than a one-percent boost.
$2 million is earmarked to meet OSHA’s responsibilities under 14 whistleblower statutes that the agency enforces. A $6.6 million funding increase will expand outreach and compliance assistance programs.
OSHA plans to conduct 37,700 inspections in FY 2005, the same number as planned in FY 2004.
