Summit will now be offering “The Hazard Communication Answer Book” available for purchase in February that addresses how hazards should be communicated to employees under the newly revised Hazard Communication Standard also known as HazCom, HCS, 29 CFR 1910.1200, and Right to Know. Published by Moran Associates, Inc., “The Hazard Communication Answer Book” has been added to our outstanding library as a vital tool and one-stop resource for all safety professionals, students, or anyone who needs easy to find answers on Hazard Communication.

The Hazard Communication Answer Book” covers:

• How the New Standard will affect your workplace
• What Changes are required in Classification, Labeling, and Employee Training

OSHA is aligning HCS with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), a global hazard communication system developed by the United Nations (UN) that standardizes the classification of chemicals and the communication of hazards via labels and MSDSs. With GHS alignment, the classification of chemicals will include the categorization of hazards based upon severity. Other changes will significantly alter labels and safety data sheets. “The Hazard Communication Answer Book” can help answer all questions relating to Hazard Communication and these changes to make the work environment a safer place to be.
