What will PPE look like in 2033? (10/15)

The International Safety Equipment Association is co-sponsoring a major symposium on the future of worker protection to be held the morning of November 11 in Arlington, VA. Protection2033, co-sponsored by the International Safety Equipment Association and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), will examine workplace hazards and worker protection in ISEA's centennial year. The symposium is part of the celebration of ISEA's 75th anniversary this year.

Speakers will include (1) leading futurist John Mahaffie, author of Future Work; who will describe the changing nature of work in the next 25 years; (2) Richard W. Siegel, professor of materials engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and director of the Nanotechnology Center, who will look at the role of new materials in the design and manufacture of PPE, as well as the hazards these materials may present, and (3) former NIOSH Director John Howard, who will give his unique perspective on the future of worker safety and regulation.

The luncheon speaker just one week after the Presidential election will be Howard Fineman, Newsweek Washington Bureau chief and NBC-TV political analyst.
