I was going online to publish this week's newsletter when I saw the coolest notice. "Due to dangerous weather conditions, our offices are closed today and we will have limited technical support available. Thank you for understanding."
I immediately went to their online support page and wrote a note thanking them for watching out for the safety of their employees.
When I went to seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, back in the 70's, I saw that type of action taken at least once each winter. Having grown up in Southern California, it was quite a culture or should I say weather shock.
I actually was working as a security guard in downtown St. Paul when the city asked all companies to send their employees home before the next storm arrived shortly after noon.
This level of action shows a real commitment to safety as a value. To give my email newsletter company proper credit they are www.mailchimp.com and they have done a great job for me. I love that they have the same value of safety I do.
For those of youFor those of you fighting the weather, my prayers are with you and I look forward to visiting your site soon.
Be Safe,
John Drebinger Jr.
