3M expands personal safety portfolio with escape & rescue kit and high altitude respiratory protection device
3M has expanded its personal safety portfolio with a new controlled descent device for escape and rescue at height and a high-altitude upgrade for its popular 3M™ Adflo™ Powered Air Purifying Respirator system. The 3M™ and DEUS™ Escape and Rescue System enables workers to steadily descend from heights up to 590 feet, while the 3M™ Adflo™ Turbo Assembly with High Altitude Upgrade can provide continuous filtered air to welders working at altitudes of up to 10,000 ft.
A chemical fire that left an employee at a flavoring manufacturing facility led to 19 serious safety and health violations against Carol Callahan, doing business as Natural Advantage. The incident occurred in August 2013 at the company’s Oakdale, Louisiana facility. Proposed penalties total $91,000.

3M has named Frank Little executive vice president of 3M's Safety and Graphics business. In this role, Little will oversee more than 40 major platforms, including respiratory protection, hearing protection, fall protection, passive fire protection, protective eyewear, head and face protection, reflective materials and graphics for traffic control and guidance, commercial hand and floor pads, and other adjacent solutions.
