U.S. Chamber regrets Senate rejection of Keystone XL pipeline legislation
Karen Harbert, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for 21st Century Energy, issued the following statement regarding the Senate’s vote on legislation to approve the Keystone XL pipeline:
“While we’re obviously disappointed that Keystone XL pipeline legislation came just short of the 60-votes needed for passage in the Senate, we’re pleased that a bipartisan majority of Congress once again supported building the pipeline. Unfortunately, there have been no indications that the Obama administration will stop ignoring the vast majority of Americans that support the pipeline, but we do know that Keystone will have even stronger support in the next Congress. We will therefore continue our efforts to gain approval of the pipeline, which will create jobs and revenue for America.”
