Tillman’s new OilShield™ gloves keep hands clean and protected
Enhanced performance with ANSI A6 and A7 cut resistance delivered in a very comfortable family of gloves
Tillman, a leader in personal protective solutions for welders and the industrial market announces the introduction of the OilShield™ line of oil resistant and ANSI cut resistant gloves. “No one likes to feel liquid seeping through their leather gloves; to combat this, Tillman developed a family of top grain Goatskin gloves with OilShield, a molecular additive that repels oil, grease and liquids from penetrating leather” said Jeff Shipley, Director of Marketing for Tillman.
“We knew the OilShield gloves would be used in the grimiest and harshest of conditions, so we had to start with a strong leather” said Shipley. Goatskin, also known as one of nature's strongest leathers, was chosen due to its exceptional abrasion-resistant properties, its durability and its suppleness which provides the flexibility and tactility needed for a sure grip. With Tillman known for offering best leather, identifying the best top grain Goatskin became the foundation for the OilShield gloves.
After talking to tradespeople, Tillman knew the type of work these gloves would face so it was critical the OilShield additive last, even as the gloves become worn and tattered. To fulfill this requirement, OilShield is added during the tanning process which allows the additive to be fully absorbed into the leather, keeping oil and liquids from soaking through. “As gloves are worn and show abrasion OilShield is still protecting” said Shipley.
Tillman added a Para-Aramid lining to three of the OilShield gloves for enhanced cut resistance yielding ANSI A6 Cut Resistance, on two OilShield Drivers gloves, and a staggering ANSI A7 Cut Resistance on the OilShield MIG welding glove. The right combination of Para-Aramid and Tillman supple Goatskin delivers ANSI Level 4 Abrasion and Puncture Resistance.
Tillman’s OilShield treated Goatskin gloves are offered in four models:
- Standard Drivers glove with exceptional dexterity – 1444, Small through 2X Large.
- Drivers glove with a para-aramid liner for serious ANSI A6 Cut Protection and level 4 ANSI Abrasion and Puncture resistance – 1445, Small through 2X Large.
- Drivers glove with TPR impact protection and a para-aramid liner for serious impact and ANSI A6 Cut Protection and level 4 ANSI Abrasion and Puncture resistance – 1446, Medium through 2X Large.
- MIG/Stick gloves with a para-aramid liner and Dupont™ Kevlar® thread for excellent heat resistance and ANSI A7 Cut Protection and level 4 ANSI Abrasion and Puncture resistance – 1340, Small through 2X Large.
