Several months ago I convinced a good friend of mine to join me as member of the alumni association for our alma mater, the Medical College of Ohio. Although Lynn and I live and work in the same community, we are both very busy and rarely see each other. When I saw Lynn at his first meeting of the alumni association, my mind flashed back in time. There was Lynn with his fancy computer open on a table and he was taking notes, just as he did ten years ago when we were students.
Ten years ago a personal computer in the classroom was an oddity. First of all, very few students had access to a computer, let alone owning one. Even the college faculty had a difficult time getting their own computer. Next, compared to today’s standards, the computer was very big and bulky. Lynn carried his computer around in a backpack.
