BP Amoco and Koch Petroleum Group have reached agreements with EPA and the U.S. Justice Department to invest almost $600 million to eliminate nearly 60,000 tons of air pollution annually.
BP Amoco is expected to spend more than $500 million on pollution control technologies and work practices at nine facilities to reduce all emission sources — from stacks, leaking valves, wastewater vents and flares. Koch Petroleum Group will invest up to $80 million at three refineries to reach the same goals.
