Simply remembering to wear goggles or safety spectacles at home, in your garage, on your lawn or while at work could spare you from becoming a statistic: more than 1,000 eye injuries occur every day, according to the National Society to Prevent Blindness.
Most workers suffering eye injuries do not wear eye protection, and 40 percent of those wearing protection while getting injured wore the wrong kind of eye protection, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
