Rock-and-roller David Bowie's Reality Tour was rocked by reality in Miami after a worker fell off a wire ladder above the stage at the James L. Knight Center, plunging about 50 feet to his death, according to theSouth Florida Sun-Sentinel. The show, set to start within an hour, was called off.

The 44-year-old man, working as a spotlight technician, fell on the right side of the stage around 8:30 p.m., a Miami Fire-Rescue spokesman said. Investigators were trying to figure out why he fell.

A fellow stagehand said the victim was not wearing a safety harness.

The stage crew was devastated, and officials with Clear Channel Entertainment, the show's promoter, issued a statement saying refund or postponement information would be available shortly.
