Although largely invisible, indoor air quality is a key concern for any industrial facility. During summer months, workers must be shielded from the dangers of heat stress, while in winter cold drafts and dry air may cause problems.

The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH®) and six of its Allied Industry Partners entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Indoor Air Quality Association’s (IAQA) Annual Meeting & Exposition in West Palm Beach, Florida. Frank Mortl III, CAE, ACGIH®’s Executive Director signed the agreement on behalf of ACGIH®.

The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA®) and six other non-profit organizations, including the convening organization, Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA), announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for indoor air and environmental quality. If you thought potted plants purified air in your home or office, you are mistaken, according to researchers at Drexel University. A new study on decades of research into plants and air quality suggests the benefits of potted plants are vastly overstated. “Plants are great, but they don’t actually clean indoor air quickly enough to have an effect on the air quality of your home or office environment," said Michael Waring, an associate professor of architectural and environmental engineering in Drexel’s College of Engineering.
