Industrial hygiene may not be a household name, but our knowledge base is exactly what is needed to help win this fight.

The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA®) announced today that it has joined the Ambassador Program of the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The program builds upon OSHA's Alliance Program and will be used to improve workplace health and safety by sharing information and guidance and providing access to vital training resources.

The AIHA has published the second edition of Recognition, Evaluation, and Control of Indoor Mold. This second edition of the book provides health information which is aligned with the current epidemiology and medical information on environmental allergens, updated taxonomy of the fungi and mold remediation guidelines, and the most current and comprehensive discussion on the basic practice of identifying mold damage, the evaluation of the samples that are collected, and the process of remediation.

The American Industrial Hygiene Association released today its first biennial State of AIHA Research Report. The report is an analysis of the trends and issues affecting the field of industrial hygiene and occupational health, including the changing workplace landscape, big data, total worker exposure and exposure banding.
