Washington observers say the Trump administration is planning to replace the EPA’s rule to limit emissions from coal-fired power plants with one that’s more industry friendly.
The Clean Power Plan written under former President Barack Obama required carbon emissions to be cut by 32 percent through improved efficiency and the use of more low-carbon power sources like natural gas and renewables. The plan is intended to combat climate change.
