White paper analyzes shortcomings of distributor websites
A white paper titled, The Electrical Wholesaling E-Commerce Audit, which features a study of more than 200 electrical distribution companies in the United States, finds that while 94 percent of the distributors had websites, more than half did not feature e-commerce functionality and only a small fraction offered what was termed a “fully functional” e-commerce site.
Among other things, a “fully functional” e-commerce site offers secure ordering, detailed specifications about products, content, and information relative to the product — all placed on a platform that is easy to navigate and encourages sales.
