DSM Dyneema, the manufacturer of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber, branded as Dyneema®, will discuss the results of a joint survey on hand injuries and provide other important workplace safety information at the ASSE Safety 2016 Professional Development Conference & Exposition. Specifically, DSM Dyneema will provide insights on the impact of recent changes to the EN388 and ANSI/ISEA 105 standards, and conduct demonstrations at its booth (#2335) showcasing the high-performance benefits of cut-resistant gloves made with Dyneema® Diamond Technology.

With the goal of reducing the incidence and severity of hand injuries, DSM Dyneema will provide ASSE attendees with a wealth of educational information on advanced hand protection, including:

  • Insights from a survey commissioned jointly by DSM Dyneema, ASSE and Majestic Glove, which focuses on workplace hand injuries and factors affecting workers’ use of protective gloves, including comfort and dexterity
  • Implications of changes to key global standards for protective gloves: updates to the ANSI/ISEA 105 standards, finalized this year, and upcoming changes to the EN 388 regulation.
  • Demonstrations that showcase the hidden dangers of fiberglass reinforcement in cut-resistant gloves – including reduced protection, skin irritation and discomfort from broken filaments - and the advantages of using a thin, comfortable glove material to enhance worker dexterity

DSM Dyneema management and technical experts will be available at the show to discuss Dyneema® Diamond Technology and the company’s complete line of advanced materials for protective gloves. The ASSE Safety 2016 Professional Development Conference & Exposition runs June 26-30 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
