The four-day FIH course designed for OEHS professionals will be presented June 3 – 6 by Bill Adams, CIH, CSP, CPEA, LEED AP and Dianne Grote Adams, MS, CIH, CSP, CPEA.
Attendees who register for the FIH course will gain exposure to the broad field of industrial hygiene through sampling and workshop session, hands-on lab experiences, demo sessions, and problem solving exercises. This course is not only designed for OEHS professionals new to industrial hygiene or who have newly acquired IH responsibilities, but also serves as an excellent refresher.
From this course offering, attendees will learn to identify industrial hygiene principles and practices as well as describe basic concepts of health hazard recognition, evaluation and control methods. Additionally, attendees will be instructed on how to select appropriate air sampling method for airborne contaminants, calculate the Time Weighted Average (TWA) from multiple samples, and compare sample results to the appropriate Occupational Exposure Limits (OELs).
