Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration (TOSHA) has teamed up with the Oak Ridge Business Safety Partnership (ORBSP) along with dozens of other organizations to host the 3rd Annual Safety Fest TN. This year’s fest will be held in Oak Ridge from Monday, September 8, through Friday, September 12, and will feature experts leading more than 40 free classes and seminars, and a safety expo with 30 exhibitors from various companies in the safety and health field.
Automation has changed the way business is conducted today. Processes that used to take days or longer to complete can now be accomplished in minutes—paperwork that was previously reviewed manually can now be done electronically, saving time and reducing the chance of mistakes occurring.
Workplace safety awareness is at an unprecedented high. Safety requirements and regulations are more thorough than they used to be, and each year brings a new set of safety recommendations and modifications on how to keep your facility and employees safe.
On Friday, July 11, Dr. Thomas R. Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told a national press conference he was “disappointed,” “deeply troubled,” “frankly angry,” “astonished,” “unsettled,” “upset” and had lost sleep over safety lapses at CDC facilities that “never should have happened.”
