Barbara J. Dawson, CIH, CSP, began her year-long term as president of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) at the group’s just-concluded AIHce 2013. Dawson will head up the international society, which represents 10,000 occupational and environmental health and safety professionals, until AIHce 2013, which will take place in San Antonio, Texas.

The American Industrial Hygiene Association® (AIHA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) that establishes a working relationship between the two associations, allowing for knowledge sharing and issue collaboration.

The American Trucking Associations filed a petition this week with the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia asking the court to review the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s final hours-of-service rule.

I would echo that in the next 5-10 years we will lose a very large portion of our experienced professionals. The numbers in my company reflect the same. We could lose 70% of our SHE pros in 7 years. Universities are not able to attract quality students to SHE programs.
