Mallory Safety and Supply, a safety and industrial supply distributor helping companies create safer, healthier, and more productive workplaces, announced in late November that Mallory has acquired the safety distribution business of Sanderson Safety Supply Co. of Portland, Oregon.

Steve Spahr, president of 99-year-old Sanderson, stated, “Combining forces with Mallory is a great outcome for the two groups I care most about--our customers, which will continue to receive the same safety focused application expertise but now have access to Mallory’s broader service and product offerings, and our employees, who get to join a growing and locally based company that shares our values and passion for safety.  Mallory’s vending expertise, safety training division, safety equipment rental and repair services, safety consulting division, and industrial product lines create opportunity for both our employees and our customers, and the company is well positioned for the next 99 years.”

Tim Loy, president of Mallory, stated, “We are so excited about adding the talented safety team from Sanderson, and we pick up new service capabilities such as their Shoemobile program, which solves a real need for our customers.  We also add new locations in Bellingham, WA, Eugene, OR, Richmond, CA, and more capacity in Portland and Seattle.  Sanderson has been a respected and major force in the safety space for a very long time, and we feel fortunate to be able to complete this transaction and improve our ability to serve our customers.”

Mallory is the largest independent safety distributor in the Western U.S., with approximately 250 employees, and 13 locations in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada and Wisconsin. This is Mallory’s 13th acquisition in the past ten years. While Mallory focuses on safety products and services, Mallory has acquired several industrial and MRO supply distributors, and carries a broad array of abrasives, cutting tools, construction supplies (particularly Unistrut®), so that it can meet the twin objectives of its customers—true safety expertise for the safety department, and vendor consolidation and supply chain efficiency for the procurement side of their business.

Not included in the transaction is the fire protection business of Sanderson Safety, re-launching as SANDERSON FIRE PROTECTION, which will continue to provide ANSUL fire suppression systems, fire equipment, and services from their Portland, Eugene and Seattle locations. The Fire Protection Division of Sanderson has been a NW leader for more than 55 years in the design, sales, and service of many types of specialty hazard fire systems and equipment.  SANDERSON FIRE PROTECTION day-to-day operations will remain largely unaffected and can be reached at 800-452-9955;503-889-3110, sales@sandersonfire.com; www.sandersonfire.com.
