Rockford Systems puts spotlight on new machine safeguarding services at Texas Safety Conference & Expo
Rockford Systems, a premier provider of machine safeguarding products and services, announced today that for the first time it will be attending the Texas Safety Conference & Expo, scheduled for March 5-7 in Fort Worth, TX, and sponsored by the National Safety Council (NSC). Rockford Systems recently became a member of the NSC to help engage like-minded safety professionals and educate them of the dangers of operating machinery without proper safeguarding. To assist in its efforts the company will be performing hands-on demonstrations of a fully safeguarded lathe, mill drill and drill press at its booth (#443).
"Our field engineers estimate that more than half of all operating metal fabricating machinery in the United States does not comply with current OSHA and ANSI standards," said Carrie Halle, Vice President of Marketing for Rockford Systems. "Many times this is because the operating company itself does not understand regulations or have been lulled into a false sense of security because no accidents have occurred. We plan to leverage the Texas Safety Conference & Expo to make safety professionals better aware of this serious problem that annually results in 18,000 amputations, lacerations and other traumatic injuries to workers who operate and maintain machinery, and that the lack of machine safeguarding is one of the OSHA's top ten most cited violations."
