Recognizing the benefits of working together to improve safety and health conditions at workplaces throughout the United States, the National Safety Council and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health are renewing their partnership to keep workers safe and healthy across the nation. As part of the agreement, NIOSH and NSC are committed to using their collaborative efforts and expertise to advance the protection of workers, promote best practices, and encourage employers to develop and utilize safety and health management programs and effective prevention strategies and technologies.

“It is with great excitement we announce this renewed partnership with NIOSH,” said Lorraine Martin, president and CEO of NSC. “As America’s leading nonprofit safety advocate, the opportunity to once again work alongside this agency to improve safety for all workers is an honor. Through our shared commitment and continued efforts, I believe we can and will advance workplace safety and save lives.”

Through this partnership, NSC and NIOSH will work cooperatively to provide evaluation research, outreach, communication and occupational safety and health professional development opportunities as well as to facilitate the transfer and implementation of effective workplace injury prevention measures.
