Rich Nieman, a certified industrial hygienist since 1982, recently became licensed to sell real estate. Is he giving up his industrial hygiene career? "No way," says Rich. He explains: "There's a growing need for highly qualified people who understand both sides of the real estate/health risk equation. A CIH and a real estate license show my special qualifications."
After listening to Rich's explanation, it made sense why he would want a license to sell real estate along with his CIH. But how far can an industrial hygienist go into other career directions and still maintain the passion for improving quality of life and the technical competency that I believe are the roots of this profession?
