Undocumented workers entrapped through bogus safety meeting
A North Carolina Labor Department official is charging that the raid and roundup of 48 undocumented workers at a military installation in North Carolina earlier this month came about from a forged flyer announcing a workplace safety and health meeting for employees at the base, according to the News & Observer.
On July 6, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Bureau (ICE) announced it had arrested the immigrant workers at the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Contractors had employed the workers, who were then commissioned by the Air Force base.
