Storage rack manufacturer racks up heavy fines for safety violations
Midwest Racking Manufacturing, Inc., Madison, Ill., has racked up fines in excess of $400,000 for failing to protect workers from numerous workplace hazards identified in a recent OSHA inspection and eight previous inspections.
The company, says OSHA, has consistently failed to correct grave and potentially disastrous workplace hazards, including the lack of basic worker protections such as personal protective equipment, machine guarding, fire prevention measures, safety training, fall protection, and lockout/tagout procedures.
