SUPPLIER PROFILE: Fenchurch: Experts in air filtration

October 1, 2011
Tell us a little about the history of your company

Our company, Fenchurch Environmental Group, was founded over 20 years ago to offer a range of air filtration products and solutions to all industries including medical, domestic appliance, safety and ventilation. We currently employ over 450 people across our seven divisions including development, research, sales and manufacturing. Our wholly-owned manufacturing sites are based in the UK and China, and it is in the UK where we engineer, develop and manufacture our Elipse safety respirators.

Using our expertise in air filtration, we are offering a new type of safety respirator that has high filtration efficiency and is slim in profile design and compatible to wear with other types of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as visors. The product was designed for improved fit and comfort during use. After several years of development, we decided that we should bring this product to market under our own brand, “Elipse.”

With warehousing across Europe, additionally we now have storage premises in North America.

What has been your company’s business strategy to gain market share?

Our core business strategy revolves around promotion, education and demonstration of the Elipse face mask.

How do distributors contribute to your success in the marketplace?

Having recently launched this product in the U.S. and Canadian market, the distribution network is doing a fantastic job at promoting, educating and selling Elipse. This is done either by visiting customers, exhibiting at trade shows or performing product demonstrations.

Do you offer distributors training and other value-added services?

Yes, we do offer training on either a one-to-one basis or within a company group. Our other value-added services include providing samples and promotional materials.

What business characteristics do you look for when deciding to work with a distributor?

Having a good reputation, a proven track record and a passion to drive this new and innovative product forward are characteristics that we value. A distributor must be keen on establishing a long-lasting business relationship whilst providing insight and expertise within their known industry.

Do you have any recent news to report?

The Elipse website is now available at www.elipsemask.com.

What should distributors know about your company’s future?

Our plans are to grow the product range with an emphasis on performance and incorporating innovative technology. In the short term, our focus is on building partnerships with new distributors that can develop and support our long-term range plans.
