Fall Protection Training

Competent Person Training

The Competent Person training enables the attendee to be responsible for the immediate supervision, implementation and monitoring of a managed fall protection program. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a certificate acknowledging you have met or exceeded OSHA and ANSI requirements as a Competent Person and Competent Inspector.

This course includes in-class lectures including slides and video and hands-on scenarios ​applying theory discussed to practical workplace situations. This Competent Person training is a pass/fail program incorporating both written and practical examinations and is based on the requirements of the OSHA Regulations, ANSI Z359.2 as w​ell as local legislation that will be discussed and reinforced. Attendees will learn practical solutions to difficult fall protection problems using appropriate tools and equipment.​

  • Fall hazard elimination and controls methods
  • Fall hazard surveys and fall protection procedures
  • Responsibilities of Competent Persons
  • Detailed inspection of equipment components and systems
  • Fall protection system assessments and determining when a system is unsafe
  • Fall protection rescue procedures
  • Selection and use of non-certified anchorages​​
  • Fall hazard survey​s​​​

Confined Space Rescuer

The focus of this course is confined space rescue training. It is designed for entry supervisors and/or entrants. The course involves both classroom presentations as well as a high degree of hands on scenarios that will require attendees to actively participate in confined space rescue applications. The training utilizes pre-engineered rescue systems and techniques that are easily adaptable to both team and peer rescue. Specific focus on the implementation and monitoring of a rescue plan will be covered. It should be noted that this is not a technical rope rescue course.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will receive a certificate acknowledging they have met or exceeded OSHA and ANSI requirements.

  • Defining confined space rescue
  • Understanding hazards and associated risks for confined space rescues
  • Managing and developing confined space rescue plans
  • Understanding the personnel roles and procedures for confined space rescue
  • Understanding how to conduct a non-entry rescue
  • Understanding how to conduct an entry rescue
  • Understanding selection and use of equipment for rescue entry and egress
  • Understanding basic rescue and emergency response procedures

Competent Industrial Rescuer

This is a pass/fail program that incorporates extensive class room and hands-on training and incorporates both written and practical examinations that are based on the requirements of the of the OSHA and ANSI standards. This course will involve a high degree of hands-on scenarios and will require workers to actively participate in rescue operations.

Students attending this course will expand their knowledge and ability on how to utilize pre-engineered rescue equipment and rescue techniques for safe and efficient rescues. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will receive a certificate acknowledging they have met or exceeded OSHA and ANSI requirements as a Competent Rescuer.
