Motorola, Inc.'s Network Solutions Sector, Arlington Heights, Ill., has been recognized by OSHA for achieving the Voluntary Protection Program's Star Award. The award is given nationally each year to a handful of companies that demonstrate best-in-class safety and health performance.

OSHA approves Star Award applicants after a thorough review of a written application and an intensive on-site visit to review documentation, interview employees at all levels, and to certify workplace conditions. Approved sites must then adhere to the key components of the Star Award criteria: management commitment; active and meaningful employee involvement; training; proper hazard analysis and review systems; and effective preventive or corrective actions for recognized hazards.
